Amazon Reviews

A fantasy adventure that features lots of action and intrigue that is geared to a YA audience.
There are moments in this tale that are especially well done… story telling at a level that I’d be interested to see what this author would do with an adult orientated fantasy work.
As a dedicated YA work… 5 Stars.

The beginning of a great adventure!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book of the Trail of Bones series. It is an unpredictable adventure, with heartwrenching acts of love and friendship. The story ended before I was prepared to put my Kindle down, and now I will wait anxiously for the second book to be published. In the meantime, I think I’ll read it again with my eleven-year-old son; I’m sure he’ll love it as much as I do. Give it a read!

Enthralling story line that really pulls you in
…The characters were some that I will not easily forget because he explains their background in a way that makes the reader really connect and believe they are real. He creates a world that I long to see. I really grew to both love and hate different characters. I think that is a sign of a really great author when they can make us feel so much emotion towards a character.

About Chris Salisbury
Chris Salisbury has been writing fantasy, science fiction, suspense, and action thrillers for years in independent films. Now he’s expanded his love of good movies, such as Gladiator, Counte of Monte Cristo, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, Star Trek, to the world of books. Trail of Bones is the first book in a planned four part fantasy, young adult series targeted at readers of all ages.
The father of four enjoys a wide range of interests from scuba diving to softball, coaching basketball to playing Battlefield 3 on his Xbox 360 or NCAA Football with his sons. He is also a big advocate for literacy and reading for young boys. There seem to be few titles that appeal to young boys and young men to hold their attention, trigger their imaginations and create a love of reading. Chris is out to change that.
In addition to the Trail of Bones series, he also has a number of other titles in development including historical fiction, action, suspense thrillers, and several science fiction properties. There’s a lot more on the horizon, so enjoy Trail of Bones but be sure to look for more captivating titles from Chris Salisbury in the near future.

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?

Past. I love history. It would be fascinating to see major world events as they happened.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

Sounds weird, but I love a fried egg on buttered toast with raspberry jam.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

An uplifting and endearing fantasy story about a wold and a panther.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

I’m already working on book 2 of the planned trilogy, Hunt for the Sacred Fang. In addition to Trail of Bones, I have about 14 other properties already in some stage of development.

What inspired you to want to become a writer?

I’ve always loved to write. In school I would choose an essay test over multiple choice or true false. When I was in my last semester of college I decided to take a course on Screenwriting. I was hooked and I’ve been writing ever since. Now I focus on books instead of scripts, but I do love to write.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.

A reader who posted a review of my book sent me a private message. A lady I never met or spoke to indicated she was dying from a slow and painful disease. She thanked me for writing Trail of Bones, stating that for a few days it gave her a much needed escape and she forgot about the pain. I was speechless. I don’t know if there’s a higher compliment for an author than that.

What is your dream cast for your book?

Hugh Jackman for Navarro the lumberjack/minstrel. Hugo Weaving for the vile Warden and Kate Beckinsale for Kitra the Cordale Army Commander.

What is your favorite Quote?

“Cram it with walnuts, ugly!” – Homer Simpson (I laugh every time I read it)

When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?

A professional baseball player. I almost made it too. I was playing college ball and the St. Louis Cardinals showed great interest in me. I decided to serve a voluntary mission for my church to South America and got very sick – which, unfortunately, ended my baseball career.

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?

Most definitely. I can actually see bits and pieces of myself in many of my characters. That’s one of the great things of writing books, your characters can do, say, and act in ways you often wish you could!

Salz.?Salzy. T-bone. Steak. Navigator. Lighthouse and a bunch I probably can’t share in public ??

How do you react to a bad review?

I always look to see if there is a way I can improve my writing. If I’m getting consistent feedback on a certain element, then I know it’s something I need to address. I also take some with a grain of salt, since I’ve known from years of experience that no matter how hard you try, you can’t make everyone happy.

Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Favorite places to travel?
I love the Caribbean. I just certified for scuba diving, so places like Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Aruba are a dream. Amazing beaches, warm weather and incredible dive spots.
Favorite quote from a movie?
“Get busy living, or get busy dying.” – Shawshank Redemption
