Author: Kelly Oram
Series: None – Stands Alone
Publisher: Bluefields
Released: July 10, 2012
Book Summary:
Hockey-obsessed tomboy Eleanor Westley has never been the object of a guy’s affection before. So when the hottest boy she’s ever seen moves in across the street and starts treating her like she’s the center of his universe, naturally she’s going to be a little skeptical. But everything starts to make sense when girls who look just like Ellie start dying all around the city. Obviously the new guy is the killer, and of course he only likes her because he wants to slice her into tiny pieces. Right? The more Ellie gets to know Seth the more she’s convinced he’s a psychopathic killer. Problem is, he’s the sweetest psychopathic killer she’s ever met. Not to mention he’s brutally hot. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t help but fall for him. Will Ellie find true love, or will her summer of firsts turn out to be a summer of lasts?
I had read all of Kelly’s book except this one. Since I’ve enjoyed all her other books and love the way she writes I figured I needed to read this one so I could say I had read them all. ?Kelly warned me that this one was “quirky” and not everyone loved it. ?Thankfully I’m someone who totally gets Kelly’s brand of humor so I ended up loving it. I passed it on to my 13 year old who devoured it. ?She came up asking if I had any other books like this one.
This one is a fun combination of ?“psychological thriller” mixed with humor and romance. ?Seth is unstable, controlling, intense, stalkerish and not the kind of guy I would want my daughter to date but I loved him anyway. There were enough twists and turns in the story line to keep me guessing.
If you are one of the few that had a problem with Edward being too controlling in Twilight you probably should skip this one. ?If you are in the mood for a little mystery and creepiness and can handle reading about and rooting for a controlling, unhealthy relationship and are able to laugh at the quirkiness of the relationship instead of freak out over it then you’ll likely enjoy this one… I know I did.
Rating: 4 Stars – Great Book
Content: Clean (with a couple mild swear words) – It is a humorous romantic psychological thriller type book so the “instability” of the characters may not be for everyone.

This one sounds great, since I didn’t hate Edward as much as a lot of people. I haven’t heard of it before this post. Thanks for sharing a new book to add to my TBR!
I like the premise of this book and it’s a standalone! Win!
