I couldn’t wait for this book to be released after I read the first book, The School of Good and Evil! ?When I found out my local library was getting a copy I was first to add myself to the waiting list! ?Lucky for me this book came in just before I went on vacation (to DisneyWorld no less!).
This book did not disappoint! ?We start off essentially where we left off. ?Agatha and Sophie are back home trying to live out their normals lives. ?Wishes ensue and the rest of the story happens. ?I didn’t want to put this book down! ?The characters are written lovely, with growth and depth. ?When new characters are introduced they had a purpose and the build on the story. ?Traditional thoughts and fairytales are thrown on the window again in this story, and it was a welcome change. ?If you read the first book you were introduced to a non-traditional story, well again Soman Chainani changes things up again so you’re not sure what to expect.
The artwork throughout the book is gorgious! ?I looked forward to the beginning of each chapter just to see the picture. ?Each picture is perfectly created for each chapter, telling us what will happen without teling us – you’ll have to pick up the book to understand exactly what I’m meaning. ?The cover art, once again is amazing! ?Maybe once this series ends I’ll buy the set!
Speaking of endings, once again it leaves it open. ?I’m sad about this simply because I want to keep reading and I’ll now have to wait AGAIN for the next book. ?Can you hear the sadness through the writing??? ?I really enjoyed this book and I’m now dreading the next book I read – total book hangover!

While I’d enjoyed the first book, I loved this one even more! It just sort of built and expanded what we’d already learned the first time around and made it more fresh and exciting. I’d really missed Agatha and Sophie and it was fun seeing how they’ve already changed since book 1. The best part was that it wasn’t always clear who was actually on the ‘bad side’ You’re right too: THAT ENDING made me crave book 3 SOOOOO bad! I can’t wait to see how it’ll all end up. Oh and I agree, the illustrations in this series is some of the best I’ve seen ? Awesome review ^^
