Book Summary:
Things are not always what they seem, and fate sometimes conspires to right a decades-old wrong. Twenty years after the cancellation of their wedding, family therapist Ann Hart and trauma specialist Ted McConaughy embark on a journey that defies time and reason, forcing them to re-evaluate their capacity for love and forgiveness.
Volunteering with the American Red Cross in the aftermath of the earthquake brings Ann and Ted face-to-face for the first time since their break-up, twenty years ago. Angry, flustered, excited, and bewildered by Ted’s sudden appearance and unusual behavior while she’s teaching a small group of people relaxing exercises, Ann demands he leave. Just as excited and bewildered, Ted rushes away. His exit leaves both of them wondering about … everything.
Days of Future Past is an intriguing and interesting book. With the subject of reincarnation being foremost, it creates a complex cast of characters. However, I feel that the beginning third of the book was confusing and that is partially due to the writing and partially due to the formatting of my ebook. I would recommend a more definitive break in between complete shifts of characters and time. Having said that, I was still drawn in.
The hero(s) and heroine were articulate and well written. Ted’s daughter Sara is a delight. She is a mature teenager and a necessary addition to the novel. The background for the different lives of Ted felt real and fleshed out to the degree that the reader cares about each person. I loved reading a very different kind of romance novel.

I’ve had more than one ebook or e-arc where the formatting has caused problems. Not all, of course, but still.
LOVE the cover of the book you reviewed.
Nice review, Anita. I love the cover, like a beautiful painting. It caught my attention.
